Spring 2020 is Memorable

SPRING OF 2020 IS MEMORABLE Not sure of the timeline but some heard December, 2019 from China, others said January, 2020, and still others said February BUT we're all one in the world May, 2020 with the Pandemic... Corolla Virus also known as (aka) Corvid-19, not exactly rushing around us  but in charge of how we live our lives for the near future. Someone suggested on Facebook I plant little green onion bulbs 2 meters apart. Well, I rolled my eyes at THAT piece of advice! Practically slobbering at the thought of picking green onions I planted one row about 4 inches apart and none of them have far to shake the dirt from their little bulbs and enjoy the sunshine I wish for them and the rain that was falling gently as I closed my curtains. In this dear country it can change to snow with little or no notice... even in May!

ALDRICH JAMES DYER

Image
Wawota High School Principal,  ALDRICH JAMES DYER PEd,  BA, MEd, PhD He was principal in Wawota for a number of years from about 1947. He taught  to 1959 making that class his last grade 12 class there, then he and his wife, Vera White, moved to Yellowknife, North West Territories.  He taught school for the Department of Indian Affairs at Sir John Franklin.  That was where he and other education minded people were instrumental in beginning a Teacher Education Program  (TEP) with 15 Indigenous young people in Yellowknife, NWT, the first year, 1959.  After some time as director of the program  at Yellowknife they moved to other postings in the NWT.   Ten students of his were quizzed and as a person in the know announced, "They were splendid!"  As I understand it was  for C.IT.E.P. In a letter to Four Seasons Members it was revealed the Four Seasons log building on the western end of Okadoca Street in the Village of Kenosee Lake will be upgraded "so … more logs" aren't lost. The board members along with the directors will be needing, ",,, some major fundraising,..."' Personally, if I have any yard sales or bake sales, whatsoever this spring I shall donate a portion of my earnings to the Four Seasons Executive for the improvements required by the Four Seasons Community Centre. HAPPY TO HELP is my theme!

"LIFE IS A HIGHWAY..." a song by a man named Tom Cochrane BUT ... read on:

"Life is a Highway" the words jumped at me! No, it wasn't a song but a poem in  the opening of a  "Service in Celebration of the Life of …." a dear friend of mine. She had died December 15, 2014 . "They say  Life is a highway And its milestones are the years And now and then there's a toll-gate Where you pay your way with tears." "It's a rough road and a steep road, And it stretches broad and far, But it leads at last to the Golden Town Where Golden Houses are."                                     by Joyce Kilmer

Sunday, February 2, 2020 GROUNDHOG DAY

A wonderfully warm day after a blustery windy night. Although everything was riffled up I don't believe anything flew away with the wind. I heard someone report on the different ground hogs 'in the know' about the upcoming weather and the reports were rather conflicting; one Groundhog figured it would be an early spring and another one thought it would be a later spring! By golly! One of them will have it right! I wanted to get a Groundhog's photo right here! No luck yet! Anybody got any ideas of how I can get GROUNDHOG PHOTO BELOW? Friday, June 26, 2020... no time now... later.

A Family Remembrance

A Trick on Grandad by my Brother Granddad was a carpenter. He built a mobile home he, three other adults and two children took behind their car to Arizona, USA, about 1949-50. He was always interested in inventions. All his life my brother was always building inventions. In the early '50s one contraption was sitting by the counter in the kitchen when Granddad was spotted coming for a visit. Quickly brother told me, "Push these buttons and levers and tell Granddad what they do. I will do the rest." Then he jumped into the cupboard and closed the door. "Wha'?" I was about to say but no time. Granddad came in so I said, "Hi Granddad! Do you know how my brother's invention works?" "No!" said Granddad immediately interested, "How does it work?" "Well," I said dramatically and loudly for my brother to hear in the cupboard, "When I push on this lever the drawer opens!" And THE DRAWER STARTED

PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE PARTY IS NOT THE SASKATCHEWAN PARTY!

The Saskatchewan Party  is not the Progressive Conservative Party. If you don't agree please do so stating why you disagree. I heard Monday, February 3, 2020 that more people are coming to Saskatchewan. I believe they are immigrants. I still feel people will want to stay in their own countries. HOME is best! After a wonderful holiday we are all so happy to be back home! Think about it! Surely we could help them stay in their own homes?  This is another topic. Feel free to discuss whatever is on your mind.
