WAR BRIDES and more by Artist Beverly Tosh

I have checked with artist, Bev Tosh, via her son, Scott. He's given permission to look at her War Bride paintings on my blog as a posting.  They came to marry the soldiers they had fallen in love with during the Second World War. Would they, could they love the men living on the prairies back on farms after the war was over?
The man was home, the war over, but the women who'd married their loves were now far from the homes where they'd grown up. It was very different and daunting for them.

Canadian Artist, Bev Tosh, looks at them with a critical but loving eye - her mother was among the many War Brides coming to the soldiers with whom they'd fallen in love.
My idea is to look over Bev Tosh's research of War Brides as another Remembrance Day comes to the forefront and instill romanticism into the coldness
of the month of November.
One song comes to mind:
"Glad You Came," by The Wanted,
Sung by  a sweet lass:

Please read the credits after the song.
